Recently, my mom gave me Alicia Silverstone’s new book, “The Kind Diet.” Although she is Vegan and does not have allergies, there are several overlaps between her diet and mine. I would like to say that I am Vegan-ish… a vegan who eats steak, chicken, and turkey. But like Alicia, I don’t eat dairy or most fish products.
Most of the book talks about how being Vegan is kind to both our bodies and our environment, and the rest of the book has her favorite recipes. I found her reasons for being Vegan very insightful. I didn’t know that meat sits in your digestive track for a few days before it is completely digested, did you?
And I agree that we all need to eat more foods that come from our earth and less foods that come from a processing plant. Again, the overall message here is to be mindful of what we eat. Clearly, she looks fantastic, and she attributes that to her diet. What we put inside our bodies have a direct relationship to how we look on the outside, and it looks like Alicia is living proof.
